This limited collection was born from my love of oils. Before abstraction was my main focus, I painted oil portraits and still lives. Some days I am drawn to the feeling of oils, the slowness of the painting, the details that come through from layering buttery colours on top of another, the mediums that make oils so versatile. I wanted to try and bring my love of abstract art and oils together to see what would come through. I found myself really drawn to mark making even more whilst working with oils, the forced slowness of layering colour changed my approach to the work, it tested my routine and knowledge of how I like to work. Overall I think it was a learning and immersive exploration. I learnt new ways to approach my work, new ways of thinking and pushing it forward.
